Shansita Sharma
Hi, I’m a senior at Vanderbilt University, majoring in Computer Science and Mathematics with minors in Data Science and Scientific Computing.
My research interests center on combining mathematical foundations and empirical analysis to better understand and improve deep learning models, with a focus on representation learning, and designing robust, efficient learning methods with theoretical guarantees.
I work on representation learning, sparsity and optimal transport with the Machine Intelligence and Neural Technologies (MINT) Lab under Dr. Soheil Kolouri and label-efficient learning in physiological contexts with Neuroimaging & Brain Dynamics (NeurdyLab) Lab under Dr. Catie Chang. I have previously also worked with the Modeling and Analysis of Complex Systems (MACS) lab under Dr. Gautam Biswas on a transfer learning project for energy efficiency.
This past summer, I was a software engineering intern at Google working on efficient media processing for AI features on Meet. I previously also interned at Johnson & Johnson and worked on a computer vision project.
I enjoy playing badminton, producing music and learning random bits from different languages!
